portway, handling de portugal, s.a. is a ground handling company guaranteeing a quality service at the Portuguese airports of Lisbon, Porto, Faro, Funchal and Beja.
Founded in 2000, today the company has a share capital held entirely by ANA Aeroportos de Portugal, since then we provide a complete, efficient and recognized airport handling service.

Currently portway has a staff of roughly 2500 employees, all suitably qualified and regularly attending training courses, both inside and outside the company. We consider training to be a crucial part of portway’s human resources policy. portway’s Training Centre has been accredited and certified by both Portuguese and international institutions, such as ANAC, IATA, TÜV and DGERT, clearly demonstrating that this company is committed to promoting quality, safety and confidence in the air services at Portuguese airports, for the benefit of consumers from all over the world.

portway’s environmental policy aims to comply comprehensively with all legal requirements, it is also extremely important the dispose of waste responsibly, as well as encourage and promote pollution reduction measures through the acquisition of hybrid and/or electric vehicles. The renewal of our fleet and equipment has been always based on more environmentally friendly solutions, portway currently has roughly 105 electric vehicles to operate at all handling units.

portway regularly controls the greenhouse gas emissions from diesel GSEs to achieve targets bellow of those permitted by the legislation in force.

All of the different audits carried out by our clients have proved our determination to be successful in this business. Awards such as the best air cargo handling agent have been given to us in recognition of our dedicated and highly professional proactive attitude (Revista Transportes & Negócios, from 2004 to 2014 and in 2016), “Best Service Provider” – auxiliary services to transportation in 2014, 2015 and 2016 (500 Maiores& Melhores by the ExameMagazine).
