portway operates at four airports in Portugal: Lisbon, Porto, Faro and Funchal.

portway, handling de portugal, s.a. is a ground handling company guaranteeing a quality service at the Portuguese airports of Lisbon, Porto, Faro and Funchal.
We provide a complete and efficient airport handling service, using qualified staff, modern ground equipment and the latest information technology solutions at our functional and conveniently sited premises.

portway has a staff of roughly 850 employees, all suitably qualified and regularly attending training courses, both inside and outside the company. We consider training to be a crucial part of portway’s human resources policy. portway’s Training Centre has been accredited and certified by both Portuguese and international institutions, such as INAC, IATA and TÜV, clearly demonstrating that this company is committed to promoting quality, safety and confidence in the air services at Portuguese airports, for the benefit of consumers from all over the world.

All of the different audits carried out by our clients have proved our determination to be successful in this business. Awards such as the best air cargo handling agent have been given to us in recognition of our dedicated and highly professional proactive attitude (Revista Transportes & Negócios, 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007).

Today the company has a share capital of 9,500,000 Euros held entirely by ANA Aeroportos de Portugal, S.A., and, over this roughly 7-year period, it has succeeded in attaining market shares of close on 35% in the number of aircraft movements handled, and more than 50% in the total number of air cargo movements handled at Portuguese airports.

Portway’s business strategy has remained unchanged, with its energies being concentrated on finding opportunities for the profitable growth of its turnover. Our company permanently seeks to mark out a difference from its competitors through the quality of the services that it provides, its high standards of efficiency and its constant availability to clients.

One of portway’s slogans is that it always has the right solution for the client’s requirements, meaning that all of the company’s efforts are geared towards ensuring that all of its clients, in other words its business partners, enjoy services of the highest quality. The company also offers individual solutions based on Service Level Agreements, in which portway’s main aim is to offer high quality ground handling services while maintaining strict control over operating costs.
